Quito opens its wings to the world In August, 2003, the refurbishment of Quito Airport, Mariscal Sucre, was concluded. Today its facilities and services measure those of an international level and it is located only 10 minutes from the main commercial area of the city. There are direct flights arriving from Madrid, Amsterdam, Bogota, Lima, Santiago, Caracas, Mexico, Curazao, Havana, Miami, Houston, New York and with a connection from Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Rome, Londres, Paris, Frankfurt, among others.

Simultaneously, plans have been completed for a new airport which will open during the year 2010, opening the wings of Quito to the world. Equipped with services and first class installations with the capacity to receive four million passengers per year, two hundred and seventy thousand tonnes of cargo and executing an average of forty four operations per hour.
