METROPOLITAN TOURING OBTAINS INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION
 
We are very pleased to announce that Metropolitan Touring has obtained international recognition by the World Travel & Tourism Council as finalist in the TOURISM FOR TOMORROW AWARDS 2009. Metropolitan Touring participated in the Category Global Tourism Business Award, which recognizes best practices in sustainable tourism at the large scale business level, and reached second place.
We are very proud to have come this far, as this is a first for a Latin American company to be selected in this category, and it is certainly a great achievement for Metropolitan Touring, as Finalists were selected by an international team of independent judges for having successfully demonstrated sustainable tourism practices, including the protection of natural and cultural heritage, social and economic benefits to local people, and environmentally-friendly operations.
Metropolitan Touring was present at the Global Travel & Tourism Summit, which took place in Florianópolis, Brazil on May 15-16, where leaders of the industry, at a worldwide level, received a recognition for their contribution to Planet Earth.
This is a strong motivation, and a great responsibility, for Metropolitan Touring to continue working towards sustainable tourism practices in all aspects of our operation, particularly in the Galapagos Islands, derived from a solid commitment to making our planet a better place and leaving a positive environmental footprint.
