Beginning
in April, the Oneworld network, through LAN airlines, will improve the
connectivity of Ecuador with the world. LAN is entering the domestic
airline market for the first time, initially connecting Quito with
Guayaquil, and later linking both cities with Cuenca and Galapagos. It
will operate the latest generation Airbus A320 family aircraft on all
routes, and is offering some incredible promotional prices for the
launch of its new routes.
This new domestic network will complement LAN Ecuador's international
services to and from Ecuador, which include flights from both Guayaquil
and Quito to destinations such as Buenos Aires, Madrid, Miami, New York
and Santiago. LAN expects its participation will boost national air
traffic by more than 20 percent. Ecuador's busiest route between the
cities of Quito and Guayaquil registered more than half a million
passengers in 2006, according to aviation authority data.
Also in South America, LAN Ecuador's sister airline LAN Peru is to add
Cartagena de Indias, on Colombia's Caribbean coast, to the alliance's
network from 29 April, with two Airbus A319s a week from its Lima hub. Oneworld
is the only global alliance with any members based in South America,
through LAN Ecuador, LAN Airlines, LAN Argentina and LAN Peru. Find out more about LAN’s great fares for domestic flights, see: http://plane.lan.com/index-es-ec.html (only in Spanish) For LAN’s international flights to Ecuador, see: www.lan.com
